We’re carrying on a 50-year legacy from the Illinois Knights of Columbus Council, who first came up with the idea of handing out Tootsie Rolls in exchange for donations to the Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities (CPID). This fantastic initiative has now spread to over 44 states, including Arizona.
Knights of Columbus Council 11809 will continue this meaningful tradition in October and November. Brother Knights will be stationed in front of local businesses in Sun City West. Keep an eye out for us – we’ll be the ones with big smiles and a sweet treat.
Our donation collection cans will be at the locations and dates mentioned above and after Mass during subsequent weekends in October and November. All the funds collected will be dedicated to supporting important causes right here in Arizona, particularly in aiding people with Intellectual Disabilities.
